My kid started 10th grade last week and I had a lot of similar questions/comments on the video I posted about our back to school tradition.
1. What size shirt? I guessed he would be a medium in high school because he was in the lower percentiles for height/weight in kinder. This was not accurate 🤣 I should have done a large shirt.
2. The shirt is still vibrant because I’ve never washed it. He literally wears it for about 2 minutes once a year (long enough for a picture) and then it hangs in my closet.
3. He owns shoes 🤦🏼‍♀️ Once again, he literally goes outside for about 2 minutes for the photo and then goes back inside to change the shirt.
4. What if he got held back? These photos are ultimately just FOR ME. I started sharing them more publically a few years ago when he gave me permission to. I can’t predict what I would have done with the shirt if that happened, but I can 100% say I wouldn’t be posting it on the internet.
5. I’m so proud of our home. I bought this house as a young single mom when he was 2.5 because I wanted him to have a backyard to play in. Yes, I have a lot of equity in it and it’s still the perfect home for us.
6. I still hate that tree… and the moss… and the massive piles of leaves it dumps all over my yard on the one week it gets cold in Florida.
I take a ton of photos and love recreating old photos. My son doesn’t mind. He knows it’s a few minutes out of his day to make me happy. He’ll take the photo and then make fun of me for being so happy about it.
The end!
