Behind every great principal is a great staff.

A school may have a principal at the helm, but it takes an entire team to build a community. ❤️💛

75 years later, that hasn't changed. The faces may be different, but the heart of Lake Como remains the same: great people working together for our students.

STORY 02 OF 75 | MRS. OPAL JOHNSON

Every great story has a beginning—and ours begins with Mrs. Opal Johnson.

As the very first principal of Lake Como School, Mrs. Johnson helped lay the foundation for the school and community we know today.

Her story—and the story of those early Lake Como days—is lovingly captured in Love Under a Schoolhouse Roof, a book written by the parents and teachers who helped build the foundation of our school.

As we continue our journey through 75 years, we're going back to where some of our most important stories began. ❤️💛

🦁 ATHLETIC EVENT REMINDER 🦁
A reminder to all Lake Como families: ALL students attending athletic events must be accompanied by an adult. This applies to athletic events both at Lake Como and at away games/events.
Students may not be dropped off and left unattended at any athletic event.
Thank you for helping us keep our Lions safe and ensuring our athletic events are a positive experience for everyone!

Today, our Lions looked up. ✈️❤️💛

And we hope they saw more than an airplane.

Today, Lake Como School took our message of dreaming big to a whole new altitude as our Assistant Principal took to the skies over our campus in partnership with Girls in Aviation. 👩‍✈️✈️

For 75 years, Lake Como has encouraged generations of students to learn, grow, work hard, and reach for greatness. Today was another chapter in that story—a reminder to every Lion watching from below that the dreams that seem far above you today can become the places you go tomorrow.

Dream big. Work hard. Look up.
Because you never know where your adventure might take you. 🌎✈️
