Korean Cooking Class: Songpyeon & Jeon (송편 & 전)

Celebrate Chuseok (9/25), Korea’s harvest festival, with two traditional Korean favorites!

Join us for a hands-on cooking class where you’ll make Songpyeon and Jeon. two dishes that are especially enjoyed during Korean holidays and family gatherings.

Songpyeon is a traditional Korean rice cake made from rice flour and shaped into small half-moon pieces, with a sweet and flavorful filling inside. You’ll also learn how to make Jeon, savory Korean-style pancakes made with a variety of ingredients and pan-fried until golden and delicious.

Whether you’re new to Korean cooking or looking to experience a taste of Korean tradition, this class is for you!

*** Can’t make it in person? We now offer live-streaming for students who live too far away but still want to keep learning Korean! That said, we strongly recommend attending in person when possible, as the live-streaming format does come with some limitations on the learning experience.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Jeyuk Bokkeum (Spicy Stir-Fried Pork) & Gyeran Mari (Korean Rolled Omelet) Cooking Class! It was so much fun seeing everyone prepare these two classic Korean comfort foods, and we hope you left with new recipes, and great memories.

Next on the menu: Gungjung Tteokbokki (Royal Court Rice Cakes) & Jumeokbap (Korean Rice Balls)! Experience a different side of tteokbokki with its rich, savory soy-based sauce, then pair it with homemade rice balls for a delicious Korean meal.

Korean Cooking Class: Gungjung Tteokbokki & Jumeokbap
(궁중떡볶이 & 주먹밥)

Join us for a hands-on cooking class where you’ll make Gungjung Tteokbokki (Royal Court Rice Cakes) and Jumeokbap (Korean Rice Balls), a delicious combination that’s both comforting and fun to prepare.

Unlike the spicy street-food version of tteokbokki, Gungjung Tteokbokki is a traditional dish featuring chewy rice cakes, colorful vegetables, and tender beef in a rich, savory soy-based sauce. You’ll also make Jumeokbap, a popular Korean rice ball that’s perfect for pairing with your meal.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Bibimbap Cooking Class! It was so much fun seeing each bowl come together with colorful vegetables, rice, and gochujang. No two bibimbaps looked exactly the same, and that’s what made them so special.

We love creating a space where people can learn, cook, and connect through Korean food, and we’re so grateful to everyone who continues to be part of these classes.
