The UCF Scholars Legislative Program offers a premier, immersive, full-time experience during the Legislative Session.

Join us in congratulating Brooke Martin, 2023 UCF Legislative Scholar and Florida Gubernatorial Fellow (Class XX), on receiving the Hoffman Public Service Award, presented by Governor Ron DeSantis!

This distinguished recognition honors fellows who continue their careers in public service beyond their fellowship experience. In her role with the Florida Division of Emergency Management, Brooke supports communities across the state before, during, and after disasters and demonstrates a sustained commitment to public service in action.

From her time serving in Senator Jason Brodeur’s office as a Legislative Scholar, to her continued impact across Florida, Brooke exemplifies leadership, resilience, and a steadfast dedication to serving others. 🌀

At the UCF Board of Trustees meeting on April 15, 2026, President Cartwright gave a powerful shout‑out to our Legislative Scholars Program, describing it as “applied experience at the highest level.”

Through hands‑on learning, real‑world legislative engagement, and public service, our Legislative Scholars are gaining invaluable experience that truly sets them apart. Thank you to our 2026 Legislative Scholars for setting the stage with a level of dedication, professionalism, and excellence that truly reflects the strength of this program.

Applications for the Spring 2027 Legislative Scholars Internship are now open!

Our program offers a premier, immersive, full-time experience during the Spring 2027 Legislative Session. From the classroom to the Capitol, students gain firsthand exposure to the legislative process by working directly with legislative staff and professional lobbyists in Tallahassee.

Applications due September 20, 2026.
The application can be found through the link in our bio and will be submitted through InfoReady.
