Field trip to Showcase of Citrus and garden pics! Our tomatoes are growing and the kids found a Monarch chrysalis! The students also learned about Ramadan from a guest speaker. Spring is here! :)

Writing stories, using the tens boards, comparing fractions, making leprechauns, telling time, and more!

Our Kindergarteners have been introduced to division and money, and our primary students are working on their practical life and dental health activities. :)

Wow, so many holidays this month! Happy Valentine’s Day from Enlighten. We love our friends, families, teachers and supporters like you! :)

Happy Lunar New Year and Happy 100th day of school from Enlighten!!

Our first starlet has come out of Enlighten Montessori! Congratulations to Tiana Gowen on her big debut as Daisy in Amazon Prime’s most watched new series Expats starring Nicole Kidman. I am beyond proud of this girl. I was able to witness first hand, her professional growth through ballet and her first performances in local plays such as Matilda. Now to see her on my TV screen is just so surreal! I still remember her learning how to read and do math here at Enlighten! Congratulations to Tiana and her mom Toshiko M Gowen!

Meanwhile, the elementary students are doing experiments on objects that sink and float, states of matter, and lots of math!

Our primary students are focused and working on fine motor, practical life, sensorial, and early reading lessons! :)

Don’t mean to brag but.. our whole kindergarten class got perfect scores on their spelling quiz this week! So proud of them! 😁 Note: I don’t take off for the occasional backwards letter and I also give them a few challenging words, and they usually rise to the challenge! I don’t take off if they get those wrong. They just have to attempt them, but they usually get them right! This week’s challenge words were: something, know, and morning. I also give them a short dictation sentence to practice their punctuation skills.

The students have been working hard and have made a new friend! :)

Lots of great work happened in November!

In light of all the world strife happening nowadays I think it is more important now than ever for our students to learn an appreciation of world cultures. We will try this year to learn about world holidays as they actually happen. The students had a great time learning about Diwali today with a special guest speaker. We also did a STEM challenge, addition snake game, and invertebrate lessons! So much fun this week! :)
