HUT Scholar Tara Pattilachan shares her research journey and the role her Honors Undergraduate Thesis played in it.

Research in 60 Seconds: Tiny Bubbles, Big Solutions for Treating Osteoporosis UCF alum Tara Pattilachan ’22’s research examines an innovative, non-invasive solution that may one day help treat osteoporosis, a debilitating disease that affects millions of people worldwide.

For the second year, BHC Scholars were part of this exciting experience.

The Burnett Honors College partners with the Florida Institute of Oceanography to offer its scholars the opportunity to explore issues relating to the ocean in an interdisciplinary, experiential course along with several other institutions from the State University System.

Congratulations to HUT and UH Scholar Rachel! A fitting recognition of the importance of the research on diabetes for the Biomedical Sciences major.

HUT students, don’t wait until the last minute to obtain your signatures for your Registration Form (new & returning students) and Admission Agreement (new students only). Remember, you will need the signatures of your Thesis Chair, your HUT Liaison (list is provided on the forms) and yourself. Please read the forms carefully so that you may obtain your necessary signatures accurately and in a timely manner. Due Friday, August 6th, 2021.

Directed Readings students, you’ve worked so hard all semester to draft, edit and submit your proposal. We here at OHR are so proud of you! Remember to submit your proposal and signed cover page by Friday, August 6th at 4:30 PM with your Thesis I registration form. Proposals can be submitted via the HUT Webcourses or to our email, [email protected].

Be like Leo! Remember to submit your final thesis to STARS so that you can receive the Honors Distinction on your diploma and officially complete all HUT program requirements. Final thesis submissions will be open until Friday, August 6th at 5:00 PM. For any questions or concerns please email the Office Honors Research at [email protected].

It’s not too late to apply for Fall! If you are still interested in pursuing an Honors Undergraduate Thesis to prepare for graduate school and earn the Honors Distinction, please fill out the Eligibility Form found on our website by Friday, July 30th 2021. You never know what you can accomplish until you try!
