“Environmental Advisory – Controlled Burn being conducted 10-18-2023-10-19-2023 in East Orange County – Commission District 4”

Orange County is conducting a controlled burn on 10-18-2023 and 10-19-2023 at its Isle of Pine Preserve (IPP) property located off of E Lake Mary Jane Road and smoke will be visible from several miles away. The Isle of Pine Preserve address is 14032 Lacebark Pine Rd, Orlando, FL 32832. IPP will be temporarily closed during the operation of the controlled burn. Any specific questions should be directed to the Orange County Environmental Protection Division at 407-836-1400.

The East Orlando Chamber is celebrating their 75th Anniversary and they are putting together an incredible book showing the history of East Orlando. They are looking for older photo from this area with brief descriptions and dates or any interesting documents, signs, flyers, etc. depicting the area. If there is an underlining story or info about the area, this will help.

If the photos are in high resolution, you can email them to: [email protected]. If you have any photos that the Chamber is allowed to borrow to take a high resolution photo scan, they will have someone from our community pick them up from your house and them return them to you the following week. They need the photos by next Monday, April 19th
