Yesterday, SGT McCoy met a man by the name of Dan Williams, age:57, sitting in front of Wendy’s in Horn Lake. He was down on his luck and was hungry. SGT McCoy walked him inside and offered to buy the man lunch. The Wendy’s Management would not let the deputy pay, because they covered Mr. Williams’ meal instead!
SGT McCoy sat down and ate lunch with Mr. Williams. He found out that Mr. Williams had no money or phone and has been catching rides from Ohio in an attempt to get down to Monroe, Louisiana to be with family.
SGT McCoy could tell that Mr. Williams had a good heart and wanted to help him, so he got with Deputies Brea, Garrett, and Andrews. They all pulled money out of their own pockets and pitched in to buy Mr. Williams an $89.00 Greyhound bus ticket to get home, along with an additional $60.00 for some food and necessities. SGT McCoy later said that Mr. Williams broke down and cried as he was dropping him off at the bus station in Memphis, TN. Mr. Williams looked over to SGT McCoy and told him, “Out of all of the people that reached out to help me in my time of need, it was the cops. Thank you!!”
This is not a one time incident….These random acts of kindness happen everyday across this county and our nation with law enforcement officers reaching out to help those in need, but most of these good deeds go unnoticed because that’s our job and that’s what we do. We are proud to protect and serve you!

“This kid dialed 911 telling the dispatcher he was running away from home after an argument with his mother. This officer arrived talked to the kid and went into his bedroom which was empty outside of a deflated blowup bed. The young man essentially slept on the floor. The officer encouraged the boy to stay home. The child’s mother facing a tough financial hardship. The officer left and soon returning with a bed, a television and a game system. The child was elated beyond words. Not all angels wear wings! Thank you officer!!!!”

"A Swatara police officer was called to the Capital Diner this morning. An elderly man couldn't pay for his breakfast; he tried but his card was declined. He panicked and actually called the police on himself because he didn't know what to do. The restaurant gave him his space to figure it out and that was the best solution he could come up with. Officer Anthony Glass went to the counter, pulled out his credit card, and paid for the man's breakfast. The man asked for his phone number so he could pay him back but the officer kindly declined. This young man deserves to be recognized."

Dear parents, teachers, children and friends:
As you all know, on August 10th, we will close our doors. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the amazing people that I met along this 23 year journey. Incredible little children, wonderful parents and warm talented and caring teachers.
The preschool would be nothing without the love and dedication of the teachers. They truly became an extension of the families that allowed us to love and care for their children.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your love, dedication and team effort. For having my back and standing up for each other and always, always putting the children first.
I am so grateful that our paths have crossed and together we all made a difference.
Thank you
