✨UCF researchers are hoping to learn more about how music can benefit aging brains. "Music and the Brain," a popular course taught by UCF professors Kiminobu Sugaya (head of neuroscience) and Ayako Yonetani (professor of violin and viola), is now a clinical trial and concert series through a partnership between UCF’s School of Performing Arts’ Pegasus String Quartet and the College of Medicine.
Pegasus String Quartet, a graduate music ensemble led by Yonetani, will put on the second in a series of concerts for those enrolled in the trial and the general public, this Friday, Nov. 21 in Lewis Auditorium at the College of Medicine. Another event in the series will be held at the highly anticipated UCF Celebrates the Arts 2026 at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts this April.
