CREOL, The College of Optics and Photonics

Student leaders from CREOL's Women in Lasers and Optics (WiLO) and the SPIE Student Chapter recently volunteered at the Maitland Public Library's Expert Expo, part of the Science Across America campaign. The CREOL team shared hands-on optics and photonics activities while introducing children and families to the science of light.

This summer, more than 50 high school students got a hands-on introduction to the world of optics and photonics at CREOL's Laser and Photonics Summer Camp. From repairing optical fiber to exploring cutting-edge research labs, campers experienced the science of light in action while learning from our faculty, staff and student mentors.

Our undergraduate students recently presented their Senior Design projects, showcasing the creativity, teamwork and technical skills they've developed throughout their time at CREOL.

From imaging systems and smart binoculars to wearable health technology and autonomous vehicle sensing, this year's projects tackled a wide range of real-world challenges.
