In Memoriam: Dr. Philip Zimbardo (1933-2024)

Today, we honour the life of Dr. Philip Zimbardo, founder of the Heroic Imagination Project. Through HIP, Dr. Zimbardo dedicated himself to teaching everyday heroism, showing that courage, empathy, and action are within reach for all of us. His vision challenged us to overcome fear, stand up, and make a difference in our communities. Though he’s gone, his legacy lives on in everyone who believes in the power of ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

From everyone at HIP, thank you, Phil, for reminding us to be heroes in our own stories.

His many achievements are listed on this official website: philipzimbardo.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Philip G. Zimbardo's name can be made to the nonprofits Heroic Imagination Project (heroicimagination.org) and the Social Psychology Network (socialpsychology.org).
