Have you ever wondered what kind of information can be found on your child's IEP? This post shares some examples of the information you can find on an IEP. Every child's IEP is unique depending on their individual needs. Additionally, it's crucial for every parent to have a copy of their child's IEP and be well-informed about its contents, as you should have access to this information at any time. 📄📊

An IEP serves as a map that reflects all special education services, accommodations and support a child needs to access their education. An IEP can follow a child until they graduate from High School, if needed.

If a child is found eligible to receive special education, the IEP team must meet to write an IEP for the child within 30 calendar days (school days) after the child is determined eligible. 💻📄📊🗓

In most cases, the school has 30 days to respond to the evaluation request (times may vary by state). 📝 Upon referral for evaluation, the school then has up to 60 calendar days (school days) to collect all necessary assessments and evaluations. 🗓 The evaluation process is not only thorough but it also involves several steps and the input of multiple people. 📑 We've included these steps in our post to inform you of what in fact goes on during the evaluation process.
