Y’all want to know why I love Get Your Teach On so much?
It’s the people. The love. The feeling of being seen, valued, and accepted.
It’s the rich, meaningful professional development. It’s the human side of teaching. It’s the celebration of who teachers are deep within, not just what we do in the classroom.
It’s the pure, unconditional acceptance of simply being you.
It’s the deep, lifelong relationships I’ve built. It’s the fact that every single time I attend, I become the very best version of myself.
It’s the feeling I carry in my heart while I’m there. The freedom of knowing I’m not being judged. I’m not being misunderstood. I’m not “too much.” I’m not “too extra.” I’m simply… me.
As teachers, we unfortunately work in a world where the very people who should be celebrated are often silenced, while criticism and scrutiny grow louder.
But here? Here, I’ve found a community where authenticity is celebrated instead of questioned. Where friendships go far beyond the surface. Where showing up exactly as you are isn’t met with side-eyes—it’s met with open arms.
That is my why.
It’s why I’ll continue to show up. It’s why I’ll continue to pour into the people who so selflessly pour into me.
Because there’s something incredibly powerful about finding a place where you can be completely, unapologetically yourself… and instead of being judged, you’re embraced. 💛
