The 4th and final week of junior camp is quickly coming to a close. These juniors are attentive, determined, talented and gracious winners. This week coaches joined in the heat of the competition, and, enjoyed helping one another during water breaks. Thank you juniors and Coaches Emerson, Porter, Bret & Barry for making this week a huge success, memorable and incredibly rewarding!

Another fantastic week of growing the game of junior golf! Impact bag drills, clock drills, course play, Up & In and Last Putter Standing competitions, the yummiest chicken tenders & fries, and the best candy awards! All wrapped up with a well deserved cool down with hundreds of water balloons! Thank you to Coaches Emerson, Emily, Bret & Barry for giving your best to these juniors!

Madison Gibson sought out short game help from Coach Porter before last week's AJGA event. Her smart work paid off nicely as Madison shot a 76, 66, 73 finishing in 3rd place! Congratulations Madison! First week of LHPS's Summer Spectacular Junior Golf Camp is in the books! We had a full week of full swing, chipping, pitching, and putting drills and challenges, along with course management. What would a week of camp at the Brad Brewer Golf Academy be if we didn't wrap up with a watermelon smash and a ridiculous long putt contest!?! Thank you to Coaches Emerson, Marc, Porter, Bret & Jacob for pouring yourself into these kids!

One-Piece Takeaway Drill! The most requested help from students is: more distance & consistency. A one-piece takeaway is key to achieving both! The objective of this drill is for the club to be directed by your torso and chest turn, keeping your hands & arms passive. To accomplish this you can use two alignment rods. Place one rod facing your target, half way in-between your foot line and the ball, (demonstrated in the photos below), and the other rod, place one end on the left side of your grip (right side for lefties) while the other end rests on your lead hip. Now turn keeping the alignment rod touching your lead hip and keeping your grip on the inside of the alignment rod on the ground. If you don't have alignment rods simply use two clubs to achieve the same benefit. Here's to your Happy Golfing!
