Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸
A quick sunscreen + UV filter update for our fellow derm clinicians:
As sunscreen science continues to evolve, newer UV filters like Tinosorb S are gaining attention in formulation development. Already widely used in Europe and other regions, it’s known for several key benefits—see slide for details.
While not yet broadly available in U.S. OTC sunscreens (but coming soon!), it remains one of the ingredients many clinicians are watching as next-generation formulations evolve.
As always, the best sunscreen is the one patients will actually use consistently—cosmetic elegance continues to drive adherence.
Wishing you a restful and safe holiday 🙂.

Community matters — especially in healthcare.
During Mental Health Awareness Month, it’s important to remember that even clinicians need support, connection, and spaces where we can simply be human. Studies show that strong social connection can significantly reduce stress and improve overall well-being.
At Diversity in Dermatology, we learn together, grow together, and yes… have fun together too.

On this Mother’s Day, we’re sharing a clip from Bre Craddock, NP — clinician, mom, and a meaningful reminder of the physiologic skin and hair changes that occur during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
These experiences underscore the importance of anticipatory counseling in dermatologic care, as well as the need to validate and normalize these changes for our patients while remaining mindful of them in our own clinical practice.
A reminder to continue centering education, empathy, and lived experience in dermatology.
Happy Mother’s Day from the D.I.D community!
