Every Wednesday we have our Unknowns conference 🧐! we all agree it is our favorite didactic conference! Our amazing attendings leave out cases for us the previous week and we all do our best to come up with the correct diagnosis! We always learn so much!
We want to thank the amazing Dr. Kainaur for being our incredible Chief this past year! Not only was he always fair, calm and patient with us; he always made sure we were a big happy family! We will forever be very grateful!

We have gross anatomic conferences once a month where the residents are given 15 minutes to examine organs and try to piece together a cause of death and additional gross finding with supervision by our forensic pathologist Dr. Hegert.
One of our Fourth year resident Dr. Oriala recently attended the CAP conference in Chicago. At Orlando Health we sponsor our resident to one conference a year in which they are presenting up to $1500.
We have forensic conferences once a month where our forensic pathologist Dr. Hegert gives us answer to questions she sends out the previous week and then gives a lecture on a related topic.
Clinical pathology conference with our program director Dr. Eisenberg! We have a weekly noon conference in which we review topics related to clinical pathology, as well as discuss prior calls the pathology resident on call received the week before. , ,

She is Orlando Health’s only breast sub-specialized pathologist who trained at Weil Cornell and MSK.
She is an energetic and naturally gifted teacher who takes a strong interest in resident education. She is a passionate resident advocate with a clear vision for our program. We are very excited to welcome her in her new role and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store!!

Favorite thing about ORMC Pathology: The supportive environment, incredible people, everyone is so kind and genuine, and the diverse cases. Every day that I go to work, I learn something new. Also, Orlando is a great city with many things to do and explore.
Hobbies: Running 🏃🏻♂️, going to the beach 🏝 , spending time with my friends and family, trying new restaurants.

Perks of working at orlando health. The residents have access to the physician lounge where we get served breakfast, lunch and prepacked meals all day. Plus free coffee, soft drinks and snacks!

We have neuropathology conferences every two weeks where we dissect brains after formalin fixation. We also go to the medical examiners office where our neuropathologist examines forensic cases.
Gross conference held once a month. Residents examine organs from an autopsy case a senior resident previously had on service. Age, gender, pathological processes and cause of death are the questions being asked. One resident is selected to give their findings and the senior resident then goes over the case.
