Hello Kanga Families:
In observation of National Hispanic Heritage Month we are Hosting a “Hispanic Heritage Drive-Thru” Experience.
Join us on an amazing journey as we focus on celebrating all the Hispanic cultures and contributions of our Hispanic Ancestors.

In order for this event to be successful we need your help!

We are looking for parent volunteers/businesses to help
create displays, bring artifacts, and offer free hand
food samples for the night of the event!
**Please note this is a Drive-Thru Experience, so displays need to be big enough to see from a car**

If you are interested in volunteering either by creating a poster board, bringing in artifacts, or Individually packed or Store Bought Food Samples, please reach out to me at [email protected] no later than Friday September 25th

We are looking forward to making this event as great as possible for our community!

Congratulations to Mr. Roland for being selected as Millennia Elementary's Support Person of the Year!!! Mr. Roland will be honored later in the school year along with other support personnel from across the school district. Next week we will be participating in Start With Hello Week. Start With Hello is an age-appropriate training that raises awareness and educates students about social isolation and how to create a connected and inclusive classroom, school, and community.

Please join us virtually or in school by participating in our spirit days to show that we can look out for one another and be kinder to others!

Each year, From September 15 - October 15th Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

Join our Latino and Latina students, families, and staff in celebrating LatinX Culture and History in our community!
During the months of September and October our school will be celebrating our Hispanic roots. Along with special interviews from our local Latino leaders, highlights from hispanic activists who paved the way, we will also be having Spirit Fridays! inspired by the diverse cultural backgrounds found in our school!

Friday September 18th -(Con Cultura) Wear Clothing with your countries colors or traditional clothing from your country

Friday September 25th -(Como la Flor) Wear your favorite MES Colors along with a flower crown or hat to stand together as one team!

Friday October 2nd - (Goalll!!) Wear your favorite National team jersey! (Soccer or Baseball)

Friday, October 9th - (Latinos in Action) Wear red to support the Latino community
