PEID sponsored and participated in a week-long training with the Peace and Justice Institute. The training is designed to provide community partners with an opportunity rarely taken to focus on increasing our capacity to positively impact our community and beyond.

This week is fundamentally an act of courage, meant to deepen our shared humanity. Building a culture of peace and justice within ourselves, our homes, our classrooms, schools, and communities is no small vision.

Opportunity 2: OCPS ACE Academy by the Peace and Justice Institute

A weeklong, immersive cohort-based program that focuses on reflecting on our lives and current practices with an eye to deepening equity in hearts, minds, and classrooms.

Based on the latest neuroscience and teaching literature, participants will explore topics such as trauma, resilience, empathy, mindfulness, and missing histories while also building relationships and community with others.

The OCPS ACE Academy will introduce and support the PJI’s Principles for How We Treat Each Other: Our Practice of Respect and Community.

Dates: Monday, June 12th thru Friday, June 16th from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided!

I hope you are well. I would like to invite you to one of ACE’s family and community engagement programs, All Pro Dad, OCPS ACE Chapter. All Pro Dad is a monthly gathering where dads get to intentionally engage with their children. There will be fun activities and a character-based curriculum that helps dads start meaningful conversations. Our next meeting is tomorrow, April 12th at 5:30 in the community room at OCPS ACE.
