❤️🖤💚Today we celebrate Juneteenth.❤️🖤💚
Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, the day when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been issued. It stands as a powerful reminder that freedom and justice are values worth protecting and expanding for every generation.
Juneteenth is more than a day in history. It is a celebration of resilience, family, culture, education, and community. It invites us to reflect on the progress that has been made while recognizing the work that continues to build a more equitable future.
Today, we honor those who persevered through unimaginable hardship, celebrate the achievements and contributions of Black Americans, and encourage conversations that inspire understanding, compassion, and unity.
May this day be filled with learning, celebration, and hope as we continue striving for a future where opportunity and freedom are shared by all.
Happy Juneteenth! ❤️🖤💚
