‼️NEW changes ‼️
Dear Parents and Guardians,
To promote student safety and maintain a secure learning environment, OCPS has adopted new guidelines regarding the use of micromobility devices on school property.
Elementary and middle school students
Under the new policy, elementary and middle school students are prohibited from bringing or operating any motorized micromobility device on school property. This includes electric bicycles, electric scooters, hoverboards, one-wheel devices, and other electrically powered transportation devices. Traditional human-powered bicycles, non-motorized scooters, skateboards, and similar non-motorized devices remain permitted, subject to school rules.
High school students
Only high school students with a valid driver's license or learner’s driver license permit will be allowed to bring motorized micromobility devices on school property but must obtain a school-issued decal. They also must walk the device once they enter campus and must secure in designated bicycle racks or other approved locations. Riding on sidewalks, courtyards, athletic fields, grass areas, or other pedestrian spaces is prohibited. Charging batteries or bringing detached batteries onto school property is also prohibited.
Students will also be required to operate all devices safely and responsibly and must comply with all applicable laws, district policies, and school rules. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action and the loss of the privilege to bring a micromobility device onto school property.
Regardless of grade level, modified electric bicycles, Class 3 electric bicycles, and electronic motorcycles are prohibited on school property.
There will be a grace period before enforcement begins. Families have until Tuesday, September 8 to make the necessary adjustments to the new policy. The grace period is intended to allow time for parents and guardians to determine the best alternative for their child if they were planning on using a micromobility device to travel to and from school.
We appreciate your partnership in helping us maintain safe campuses for all students and staff. If you have questions about these guidelines, please contact your child's school.

⚠️ Heads up, Roberto Clemente Middle & Engelwood Elementary families! ⚠️
To help keep our students, walkers, and crossing guards safe, the City of Orlando is launching a new School Zone Speed Camera program this school year.
Cameras are being installed specifically in active school zones near our campuses:
Roberto Clemente Middle School (Westbound on Roberto Clemente Road)
Engelwood Elementary School (La Costa Drive)
Here is what you need to know before the school year starts:
🗓️ August 11 – September 24, 2026 (Warning Period):
The cameras go live on the first day of school. If a vehicle is caught going more than 10 mph over the active school zone speed limit, the registered owner will receive a warning notice in the mail (no fine).
🗓️ September 25, 2026 (Enforcement Begins):
Full enforcement officially starts. Any driver going 10+ mph over the active school zone limit will be mailed a $100 Notice of Violation.
Let’s lead by example, keep our eyes on the road, and slow down in our school zones to keep our Jaguars and Eagles safe! 🐆🦅

CONGRATULATIONS JAGUARS 🎉 It’s Official: Roberto Clemente Middle School is a "B" School! 🎉
The news is out, and we couldn't be prouder. Roberto Clemente Middle School has officially earned a "B" school rating! 🌟
This achievement is a direct result of the dedication, grit, and heart of our incredible students, teachers, staff, and families. Reaching this milestone didn't happen by accident, we got here because we stayed true to our core mission.
🌟 We Lived the Code: Learn, Lead, and Lift Others 🌟
Learn: Our students and teachers pushed the boundaries of growth, curiosity, and academic focus every single day.
Lead: We stepped up, took ownership of our goals, and showed what true leadership looks like inside and outside the classroom.
Lift Others: We didn't do this alone. We rose together as a community, supporting, encouraging, and lifting each other up every step of the way.
This "B" belongs to all of us. Thank you to everyone who lives the code daily and makes RCMS such a special place to grow. Let’s keep climbing, Jaguars!

Keeping our community informed by sharing Safety Message from OCPS.
Dear OCPS Families,
This school year, we have seen an increase in scams targeting student email accounts. In many cases, passwords are compromised outside of school and used to send messages offering fake jobs or money, sometimes leading students to share personal or financial information.
What’s Changing
To better protect students, OCPS is adding multi-factor authentication (MFA) for student accounts.
June: Optional setup
July: Required for all students
How It Works
Students select a picture or simple code during setup
This is used as a second step when logging in from home or off the OCPS network
At school, there is no change, students log in as usual
Why It Matters
MFA adds an extra layer of protection.
Even if a password is compromised, an account cannot be accessed without the second step.
What Families Should Do
Set up MFA with your child before the school year begins
Help them choose something easy to remember
Remind them to avoid suspicious messages and never share personal information
Setting this up early will ensure a smooth start to the school year.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students safe.
