Learn with Lions

Learn with Lions is the NEW virtual tutoring club run by Lake Nona High School Students and sponsored by LNHS PTSA. We offer FREE virtual homework help and tutoring to elementary and middle school students in the Lake Nona Community.

The LNHS PTSA started a virtual tutoring program in February of 2021 during the pandemic to help tutor elementary students and to provide an opportunity for our top performing high school students get Bright Futures volunteer hours. The program was huge success. We worked with another student run organization called Learn-With-US to get up and running quickly. Our Lake Nona chapter had 64 math tutors helping more than 80 4th and 5th grade students with FSA math concepts. Then in the June & July we had 38 summer camp tutors teach 2 sessions covering over a dozen topics for each session.

This year we've taken our Lake Nona chapter to the next level by creating our first PTSA run club called Learn with Lions to help more of our top performing high school students take on leadership roles in forming and running the whole process. We have 18 students on our board and we anticipate a total of about 60 tutors for our fall sessions with even more in the spring.

Soon we will be rolling out our new Homework Help program to students in all of our elementary and middle schools in the Lake Nona area. We will also offer a few courses in math and reading. We are not officially filling slots yet, but keep watching for more details and sign up coming soon!
