🍀 NYS FAIR LIVESTOCK SKILLATHON RESULTS 🍀

Another great day at the New York State Fair for our 4-H youth! 🐂🐖🐑🐐

The Livestock Skillathon puts youth’s animal science knowledge to the test through 6 hands-on stations:
🌾 Feeds
🐑 Wool
🌱 Hay
🐐Breeds
🧰 Equipment
🥩 Meat Identification

Youth also complete 1 team problem and 1 written test. It takes a lot of knowledge, teamwork, and preparation!

🏆 Beginner Team – 3rd Place
⭐ Gordon D. – 3rd Place Beginner Individual

🏆 Junior Team – 3rd Place
⭐ Addison C. – 4th Place Junior Individual

Just TWO of our amazing 4-H members who have been working so hard this past week at the Boonville Oneida County Fair!

BOONVILLE — Kaitlyn Sherwood, a 17-year-old from Verona, won the Supreme Junior Champion award for dairy cattle at the Boonville-Oneida County Fair on Wednesday, July 29. This award is granted to an individual who shows the best heifer who hasn’t birthed a calf of the 4-H show.

It's a fun day for showing with Gymkhana (featuring games, barrel racing, pole bending, and timed obstacle courses. These events emphasize agility, precision, and the bond between horse and rider) followed by Mounted Games started at 9:00. Then the Open Dairy Show with 4-H Senior Animals kicking off at 10:00 am.
