Learning at its Best offers tutoring services for all ages in the Utica-Rome area. Basic subject matter tutoring is offered, in addition to tutoring for test preparation, time management/organization, study skills and homework assistance. Tutoring is on site and is offered for grades PreK-8 in major subject areas and for grades 9-12 in English and Social Studies. Special subject areas tutors can b
e hired for special subject areas for grades 9-12, if requested. Payment policies/procedures will be reviewed at initial client meeting. Also offered are home school co-ops that focus on academic content in addition to socialization and open play. Home Schools co-ops run daily from 9am-12pm, Monday-Thursday with special programming on select Fridays. Co-ops require registration which occurs in the spring for the following academic year. Pricing varies on how many days a child attends co-op and what they plan to attend for special events and activities on Fridays. Staff is also available to assist with advocacy for children with special needs. This includes review of IEPs or 504 plans, attending CSE or other pertinent meetings, in addition to helping the family communicate with the school district as needed. Cost is $32 per hour of work, plus necessary travel to/from meetings.
