The 2026–27 school year is officially underway! Classes started yesterday, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Last week, we welcomed our new students for orientation, and a few days later, our returning students joined us to sign up for classes, project presentations, and to reconnect as a community. It has been wonderful to see everyone back and to welcome so many new faces.

We’re so excited for an amazing 2026–27 school year! We still have space available and are actively enrolling new students. If you know a student who would benefit from joining Holden, please spread the word!

Yesterday, our staff came back together for the first time since summer for our Teacher Director Work Day. We are getting ready for the new school year and are excited to welcome both our new and returning students!

We enjoyed a productive day filled with meetings, collaboration, and lunch together. During lunch, we also celebrated the amazing and hard work our teachers put in this summer to complete the process and get all of our academic classes certified as UC-approved A-G coursework.

We are so proud of our teachers and grateful for all the hard work they put in to prepare for another successful school year!

Yesterday, we had the joy of celebrating the incredible accomplishments of our June 2026 graduating class. It was a heartwarming and uplifting ceremony that honored all of their hard work, perseverance, and growth. Family, friends, and staff came together to celebrate this important milestone and make the day truly memorable.
Graduation is always a meaningful way to close out the school year and reflect on the dedication of our students and the unwavering support of our staff. We are so proud of the caring community that helps our students thrive throughout their high school journey.

Last week, we proudly held Holden’s Student Showcase, and it was truly a memorable event. A special thank you goes to Nora and Ryan for all of their hard work, planning, and dedication in organizing such a successful showcase. We were amazed by the incredible performances by all our talented students. Here is just a a little clip of the wonderful event. Enjoy!!

Holden High School’s student council prepared quesadillas for our staff as part of our staff appreciation week. We are blessed to have such an extraordinary staff. Their dedication to their classes and students, and to Holden as an organization, creates the magic that makes this mighty little school a transformative experience for every human here. We thank them from the bottoms of our hearts. ❤️

Lake Temescal's all-school BBQ was a hit! We began the day with a community meeting that included awards that celebrated our students' accomplishments through the years from our rejection day field trips. Special thanks to Katie for crafting those amazing awards on her 3D printer! We had a great time with art, games, dodgeball, walks, and good company. And let's not forget the food! Thank you to all the students and staff for making it a great day.

This week at Holden High School was Spirit Week! We kicked things off with an all-school potluck, where both students and staff shared a variety of homemade dishes, and wrapped it up with a cozy PJ Day. With spring break coming up next week, everyone is looking forward to a well-deserved chance to relax and recharge.

Holden Update! March 2026!

PRAISE TO ALL at Orinda Community Church who made reframing, repainting, sealing and reinstalling the OCC-Holden-TOPS sign possible. The previous sign sadly toppled over after a wet winter. We will all treasure and appreciate this essentially functional work of art every single day!
