Children’s Theater Workshop is gearing up for our annual Summer Theater Workshop. 2026 marks the 30 year anniversary of this wonderful and fun summer program!

Session 1: June 29-July 10
Children who have finished 1st & 2nd grades 9am-12pm
Children who have finished 5th-7th grades 2pm-5pm

Session 2: July 13- July 24
Children who have finished 3rd & 4th grades 9am-12pm
Children who have finished 8th-12th grades 2pm-5pm

Introducing the 2026 Summer Theater Workshop Drama Coach: 🎭Naomii Hayes🎭

Naomii Hayes brings impressive hands-on experience, working with young people of every age and skill level. She spent three years teaching drama to children ages 5–13 at the Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences in Rocky Mount, NC. She then completed a semester student-teaching a 75-student drama program at Athens Drive Magnet High School, where she taught Shakespearean performance. Currently, Naomii is touring with the Bright Star Touring Theatre, bringing live professional theater to school audiences across the region — including a memorable visit to Pamlico County earlier this year. Naomii holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Education from Appalachian State University and has a current North Carolina Teaching License in Theater Arts.

The warm weather the past 2 days reminds us that the summer is fast approaching! Children’s Theater Workshop is excited for the 2026 summer program.

Thank you to everyone who came out to watch the Children’s Theater Workshop’s Live Nativity! These kids did a fantastic job! Thank you to all those that helped make this performance possible! We all had a terrific time bringing this wonderful story to life!

The day has arrived! Come down to Oriental United Methodist Church at 3:30pm today (12/13) to watch Children’s Theater Workshop’s Live Nativity! These kids have worked so hard, done such a great job, and are waiting to share their performance with you!

Getting all dressed up for going to Bethlehem! The costumes are ready for the final/dress rehearsal of CTW’s Live Nativity. We can still use some sheep, angels and shepherds to round out our ensemble! Our final rehearsal is tomorrow (12/12) from 4:15pm-5:15pm at Oriental United Methodist Church. There’s still time to be a part of this fun and festive holiday tradition!

Calling all kids!!! We are still in need of wisemen, angels, shepherds and sheep for CTW’s Live Nativity! Speaking and non speaking roles are available. Two more practices remain: Thursday Dec 11th 4:30pm-6:00pm and Friday Dec 12th 4:15pm-5:15pm. The performance is December 13th at 3:30pm.
