This year The Old Theater celebrates 80 Years at Center Stage. Since 1946, this historic theater in the heart of Oriental has brought Pamlico County together for movies, live music, plays, and community events. Originally opened as the Mart Theatre, the building has been part of countless memories for residents and visitors alike. As we celebrate 80 years of entertainment, community, and the arts, we’ll be sharing a few moments from the theater’s history along the way. Thank you to everyone who has supported The Old Theater over the years, from volunteers and performers to our audiences, sponsors, and members. Here’s to The Old Theater. On Sunday, March 15 at 3 PM, The Old Theater welcomes The Boomerang for a live tribute to the music of the Beach Boys & Sgt. Pepper.

They’re an award-winning North Carolina bluegrass band known for excellent musicianship and harmonies, and we’re excited to have them back on our stage.

We haven't seen a production this size in a long time, with a cast of 14 and the professional excellence that we know is Bill Hand.
