Robotic Software Internship
Scientific Systems is an industry leader of robotic autonomy. There is an open part-time position at our office in Draper, UT for fall 2019. Part-time positions start as soon as Sept 3, 2019 and persist through the end of the year, with possible extension into 2020. Our office is located directly adjacent to the Draper Frontrunner stop for easy access.
Likely projects for the internship include developing software for robots competing in the DARPA Subterranean Challenge, drone maintenance and repair, and system flight testing. Our small-business environment allows interns to learn rapidly and be involved in the full system integration of our technologies. Be a part of a team that is among the top competitors in exciting robotic challenges, and learn new skills in robotics, perception, machine learning, estimation, and control.
Qualifications of a strong candidate include the following:
- ability to work 10-20 hrs at Draper, UT office
- proficiency in ROS (robot operating system), C++, Python
- knowledge of computer vision, robotics, circuitry, mechanical/electrical CAD
- experience piloting drones (Part 107 license is a big plus, FPV drone piloting desirable as well)
- experience with machine learning (especially as it applies to computer vision problems)
- experience with FPGA programming
Preference will be given to students pursuing advanced degrees in related fields. Interested candidates should email their resume to Neil Johnson ([email protected]).
