Hey guys! So, this is a better image of the flyer for the MakerCon coming up. We have a lot of fun activities planned for this event! All of the activities are meant to allow participants to think through problems and come to creative solutions to those problems. Some of the activities we will be hosting include: LEGO printing, Stomp Rockets, UV resin painting, and so much more! Hey everybody! So, I just wanted to take a moment to remind you all about the great MakerCon we have planned for September 25th and 26th this year! We have a lot of great activities and presentations lined up for this event. Many of our events at MakerCon are focused on stem related subjects and arts and crafts subjects as well. To register, you can go to www.uvu.edu/education/makercon/ and fill out the forms with the information for registration. We’re so excited to see you guys in a couple of months!

Hey everyone! So, while I’ve told you a bit about some of the exciting events we have coming up over the next few months, I wanted to highlight some of the fun things our students have built here. These were some of the builds that our students created while taking our course covering Engineering and Design. They were tasked to create a miniature city from some of the materials in the CLS. They came up with some pretty creative designs. These are just a few of the builds that came from that class. This is an example of one of the many amazing classes we host in the CLS! Hey everybody! While we have had some truly amazing events and classes so far, we still have so much more to look forward to! I thought I would spend some time today letting you know what we have in store for all of you over the next few months! In September, we are having our annual MakerCon! This is such an amazing event where innovative and creative methods for learning stem concepts are taught to the educators in attendance. It’s taking place on September 25 from 8:00AM-3:30PM. It’s an event that offers something new and helpful for any educator in attendance. It’s also a lot of fun! We hope to see you all there!

Hey everyone! While we’ve got plenty of fun activities coming up in the next few weeks/months, our week began with such a fun course for our students. On Monday, we began teaching our course covering engineering and design thinking. To get the most out of the course, students identified a problem and worked collaboratively with other students using materials available in the studio. It was our hope that students learned how to effectively problem solve and incorporate different perspectives focused on the same problem. They collaboratively built objects/machines to solve problems they identified themselves. We have so many more events that we will be offering in the coming weeks/months. Hey everyone! So, we’ve had a lot of fun events/classes that have been going on at the Creative Learning Studio lately! Recently, we held a class that taught students how to create stop motion videos complete with visual and sound effects. The students used the crafting tools we offer here along with creative building tools such as legos to bring their creative visions to life. The projects that each of the students created allowed for them to test the limits of both the technological and crafting offerings that we offer here at the Creative Learning Studio. They were able to expand their technological knowledge in an effective, fun and creative manner. While this event was a lot of fun, it’s only a taste of what’s coming. We have so much more that we’re offering here! Stay tuned for updates and announcements to find out about what we’re doing here at the CLS!
