Earlier this month, UVU’s Herbert Interns completed working at the General Session where they learned firsthand from Utah state legislators and three of our incredible Comm students were part of the cohort! 🙌 

From researching bills to working with constituents and attending media interviews, among other activities, these interns were in the heart of the action for 45 days. We couldn’t be prouder! 💚

Internship details!⬇️

About the Role
This internship offers hands-on experience in public outreach, communications, social media
marketing, and civic engagement. The intern will play a key role in increasing public awareness of JPEC and its resources, including the website judges.utah.gov.

Position Details
• Start Date: Flexible; Summer 2026 through the November election
• Schedule: 10-15 hours/week, increasing to 20 hours per week, closer to election
• Pay: $16/hour
• Work Format: Flexible; largely remote with some in-person opportunities

Responsibilities
• Support efforts to increase awareness of JPEC and its public resources
• Assist with election outreach initiatives, including social media campaigns and advertising
• Contribute to website design and content updates
• Conduct courtroom observations as part of the evaluation process
• Assist with data entry and data management tasks

This role may also include travel to college campuses and rural communities to distribute outreach materials. Mileage is reimbursed at state rates.

What You’ll Gain
