Utah Valley University Stronger Families Project The UVU "Stronger Families Project" is grass roots educational, family-based intervention.

The "Stronger Families Project" is a nationally and internationally recognized parenting and family strengthening program. It offers training on a personal level with individual classes for parents, teens, and children. These classes are followed by family classes that allow participants to learn additional information and, as a family, practice the skills learned in the individual classes. This program has proven to be effective in reducing risk factors for behavioral, emotional, academic and social problems in youth while improving parenting skills and family relationships. The Utah Valley University "Stronger Families Project" is a 9-week program sponsored by Utah Valley University in association with the Alpine School District, Brigham Young University, and other community partners. Families are invited to participate in the program based on recommendations from teachers, school counselors, and school administrators or by indicating their interest in the program from advertisements at Back to School Night, Parent/Teacher conferences, or other events. Any family can participate and benefit from participation in the program. UVU students are trained as facilitators and then use the research based materials from the Strengthening Families Foundation to help families improve relationships and learn life skills. This is a fabulous program that has helped many families build and strengthen relationships.
