Ever wondered what it's actually like to study Web Design & Development? 👀
We asked two students to answer some of the most common questions—straight from their experience.

Future Wolverines spent the day exploring the Scott M. Smith Engineering Building and getting a peek into the world of STEM.
From cool labs to innovative technology, UVU Prep Year 3 students got to see what learning by doing is all about. Who knows? We may have met some future engineers, designers, programmers, and innovators today. 🚀💡
No GPS. No room for error.
Professor Emily Hedrick is using AI-powered drones to fly within inches of ancient artifacts and create digital twins of historic sites in Israel and Bolivia.
Part engineering, part AI, part digital media magic, projects like this are helping preserve history before it's lost while capturing details the human eye might miss.
All drone operations were conducted by a licensed professional pilot, and all required permissions were obtained prior to filming.
Being smart isn't what gets you through engineering—being consistent does.
I used to think everyone around me was naturally gifted. Turns out, showing up to class, doing the work, and studying regularly matters way more.
A good GPA is great, but the habits you build along the way are what actually stick with you.
You're not supposed to understand everything the first time.
Seriously. If a concept makes no sense at first, you're probably learning something challenging. That's normal.
Projects and labs teach you more than you think.
Some of the things I remember most didn't come from a lecture—they came from actually building something and figuring out why it wasn't working.
Ask questions early.
I've wasted way too much time being afraid to ask what felt like a dumb question. Most of the time, someone else was wondering the same thing.
You don't need to be a genius, but you do need a system.
I still cram sometimes, but having a planner and keeping track of deadlines has saved me more times than I'd like to admit.
Imposter syndrome gets better.
There will always be moments when you feel like everyone else knows more than you. Keep going. One day you'll look back and realize how far you've come.
