My name is Andrea Charlton and I am the owner and operator at Little Explorers Academy. I am an Utah-certified teacher with a dual degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Utah State University. I have taught Kindergarten and first grade and online school to K-5th graders at Utah Online School for the last 8 years. My background and training focuses on teaching children to love learning through play. I adore this preschool and its success is one of my greatest joys. I say it daily, “preschool is magic!”

Meet Gary! Gary is a beloved member of our classroom. He comes out when children are quiet and ready to learn because he’s very shy. He loves to munch on rhyming words and compound word sandwiches. He also loves to listen to story time and he rests in a bucket perched above the children so he can always see their awesome behavior. We love you, Gary!

Meet the teachers! We are so lucky to have Ms. Sara as our head teacher again this year. She is a devoted preschool teacher, children’s book author, and loving mother of two. With eleven years of teaching experience—most recently in the Alpine School District—Sara’s creative approach to education and genuine love for storytelling have made her a cherished member of her community. In 2024, she was honored with 11 RISE awards for her outstanding contributions to Alpine District. Sara’s passion for education, coupled with her warmth and creativity, continues to leave a lasting impression on both children and families.

Weather + Earth Week! Things are SO busy at preschool this week this is ALL the pictures we took! Between prepping for our Moms and Muffins next week, graduation + art show prep and all of our other end of year traditions we are busy bees. We can’t wait to show off all we have learned this year at our program.
