This is just the tip of the iceberg, and there are other things that influence how your labor will progress (ex: fetal positioning) but at the end of the day, if your body isn’t getting the “go” signal from oxytocin, the other things really can’t fall into place for you either.
It’s why it really matters to do what you can to keep the oxytocin flowing!!! The intentional picking of your birth team, preparation with your partner, understanding how to work with the labor process & having a general idea of how things might progress… this prep matters!

Open, honest, vulnerable conversations. That is how you figure out what you’re actually nervous about.
And more importantly, how you discover what you can do to ease those nerves and get the support you need.
