Wrestling has shaped me today by teaching me discipline and focused on improving myself daily.

I’ll miss all the memories about wrestling staying at the air bnbs and all the guys.

One word to describe my wrestling style would be ischys.

The biggest influence on me throughout my whole wrestling career is my friend Josh. I remember being a sophmore and me and him just going back and forth with each other everyday at practice and always going our hardest.

Favorite quote: Something Morrill always says be disciplined and believe in yourself.

When did you start wrestling, and what got you into it?
I started my Junior year, because I was sick of being scared of it since I was eight; and I wanted to be tougher and stronger than I was currently. I wanted to develop the mentality that wrestlers were known to have, to develop the power that wrestlers are known to have.

What advice would you give to younger wrestlers?
Never go for good, go for the great. The only way you can make sure you will be a champion, is to do something extra you know nobody else is doing.

One word to describe your wrestling style?
My wrestling style would be described as always learning, I am always evolving, always trying something new.

What’s your favorite team tradition?
The Seth Montierth mantra, to honor “my coach and my God.” It reminds me to always work hard, that State is possible, and that God is always with me.

My favorite memory is getting to wear the white singlets at divisionals my freshman year, and winning my match for first. And how glad I was to push through and win after exhaustion.

What I will miss the most is the fun tournaments and weigh cuts. And I would recommend that if you are going to cut weight, don’t eat 12 yogurts the first day of divisionals. It’s not the best weight cutting strategy.

My lucky items would have to be all the lanyards I have collected from different tournaments.

Morrill, Dusty, Owen, Jack, and Colter have had all had a huge influence on my wrestling career shaping me as both an athlete and person.

When did you start wrestling?
I started wrestling my freshman year of high school. The Reason why I did it was because at the time I was doing football and coach Morrill told me it would make me better at football during the winter. Then after I fell in love with the sport.

Advice to young wrestlers
It’s hard at first but keep pushing. Always show up to get better and always have in mind there is someone out there trying to get better so they can beat you. The reward at the end is worth it and all the hard work you put in is going to make you love the sport.

What’s my favorite wrestling move? Slide by

What will I miss most about wrestling? The team, the bus rides, duels and all the hard work we put in.

If I could wrestle any famous athlete it would be UFC fighter Islam Makhachev

Something my coach says that I won’t forget "YOU GO!"

My favorite memory from being on the wrestling team was my junior year at the state tournament after I won the semifinals and hanging out with my family, the team and the night at the hotel and being in the room with all the kids that were still in the tournament and then the bus ride back after the state tournament with all my friends and all of our success.

One of the biggest challenges I overcame was my class is full of studs and I started as a freshman not knowing anything about the sport or myself. I had to let go of pride and be humble and get to work. Going from a nobody to wrestling in the finals my junior year is one of my proudest accomplishments.

If I could choose word I would choose funky. I have tried to take what I have learned from each coach and make it my own and its turned out pretty funky.

One time in malad coach yelled “wrestle you, wrestle what you know” that kind of changed me. It gave me confidence to be myself. I was trying to be all the good guys on my team but wrestling my own way helped me get into the finals

Wrestling: The Art of Suffering… With Style

Advice for New Wrestlers:
1 You will be sore. All the time. In places you didn’t know you had. You’re normal.
2 Ask questions. Your teammates were once confused freshies too. They get it.
3 Don’t panic. If someone’s trying to murder you, just remember: you’re also allowed to do that to them. Equality.

What Makes Wrestling Teams Special:
Wrestling teams are built different. It's like joining a family where everyone is equally sore, hangry, and sweaty. You’ll bond through:
• shared suffering
• questionable locker room humor
• daily conditioning

In the end, wrestling teaches you toughness, perseverance under pressure, and how to make lifelong friends who don’t judge you. And honestly? That’s special.

If I could wrestle any famous athlete it would be….
Jon Jones
Something that coach says that I will never forget….. You Go!!!
