With the school year starting, I wanted to put out a reminder that I offer Spanish lessons/tutoring virtually ($15 for 30 minutes or $25 for an hour, up to twice a week). I have been teaching and tutoring elementary-aged kids, jr. high & high schoolers, and adults of many different backgrounds. DID YOU KNOW… with the letter ‘D’ (just because it’s my favorite letter 😉).

In Spanish, the ‘D’ is said more like a soft ‘th’ rather than a hard ‘D’ like we use in English (think of the sound the ‘th’ makes in English words like “they,” “that,” and “then).

For more advanced learners, to improve knowledge and pronunciation: the ‘D’ actually does make a hard ‘D’ sound in Spanish after a pause (so, think: beginnings of words), or after the letters ‘l’, ‘m’, or ‘n’ (think: “humildad” or “bandera”).

Hey friends! I am about to start up Spanish lessons/Spanish tutoring again for the new year, starting the week of January 8th. I have a couple of openings for new students if anyone is interested. I have a couple of openings on Monday afternoons, Tuesday evenings, and Wednesday afternoons. Sessions are conducted via Zoom or Google Meets, and are $15/30 mins or $25/one hour. I’m Danie! I just wanted to quickly introduce myself. I grew up in Northern Utah, met my hubs in high school, and after graduating high school, served an 18-month, religious mission in Guadalajara, Mexico. 🇲🇽 While on my mission and learning Spanish, I FELL IN LOVE with the language and the culture! So much that decided to get a bachelor’s degree in Spanish in college after my mission. My husband and I have returned to Mexico many times in our marriage to keep up on the language and simply enjoy all that Mexico has to offer. We love it!

I officially started private Spanish tutoring and teaching in January 2023 (though, I’ve been unofficially teaching Spanish and English to others for years). I LOVE what I do! My hope for this page is to offer little tips and tricks, teach some new vocabulary, teach some culture, and help other understand the rules of the Spanish language! I do offer private lessons online, so if you have any interest in that, please reach out.

A little more about me: I have two amazing sons with a daughter on the way. I LOVE naps more than anything. I have a dress obsession. And my biggest goals in life right now is to adopt a doggo (hard to do while renting our house, hahaha. Someday!) and to travel the world. Recently I’ve gotten into doing 5Ks, and I’ve been doing portrait photography as a hobby for about 3 years. You’ll also noticed that I talk a lot, sooo… buckle up. 😂
