This week, campus minister Kelly Sankowski offered classroom blessings throughout the school, praying that our classrooms may be a space of love, support, and courage.

"Cardinal Stritch's motto is 'God is my helper', so as we begin a new school year, it is important that we pause to invite God into our classrooms and into our lives," said Mrs. Sankowski. "With God's help, our school community will grow in love, in faith, and in wisdom this year."

Thank you to Father Scott Woods for our teaching Mass this morning for our high school students. A teaching Mass is a special Catholic liturgy where Father pauses to explain the prayers, symbols, and rituals as they happen.

Starting the school year with a teaching Mass helps all students have a deeper understanding of the meaning behind the liturgy. It also teaches the history and reasons for traditions like standing, kneeling, and specific prayers.

Beginning band members practiced rhythms today in class by doing bucket drumming! Mrs. Bellavia said, "This was a great activity for the students while they waited for our new instruments to arrive!"

In music class with Mrs. Bellavia, the 1st graders showed fast and slow, high and low notes while using scarves! WHY?

Movement scarves are a highly effective strategy to help young learners visualize, feel, and internalize musical concepts. Why does this method work so well?
