Track and Field State Qualifier King Wilson Jr. '26 is heading south to prepare for STATES after a community sendoff featuring the Oregon Ohio Police Division, Oregon Fire & Rescue Station # 43, and Oregon Ohio Fire and Rescue Department. Following several media interviews, Father Michael prayed over and blessed him, while faculty, staff, and students offered hugs and good wishes. Coach Lau drove King to the highway toward Columbus, where he was es**rted on his journey. King will compete in THREE EVENTS: the 400-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, and the long jump. Tomorrow (at noon) is the last day to register for a Stritch Adventure! Sign up for our Stritch Summer Adventures now at https://cardinalstritch.org/adventure/. Our one-day adventures cost just $25 and run from June 8-11, from 9:00 AM to noon. Registration closes Monday, June 1, 2026! Each day is tailored for different age groups! Here is a list of adventures!

Tonka Truck & Lego Adventures (grades K-2) – Monday, June 8, from 9:00 to noon

Get ready to dig, build, and explore! Tonka Truck and Lego Adventure is designed for kids in grades K – 2 who enjoy hands-on play with trucks, obstacle courses, and creative construction projects. From hauling and dumping to designing their own mini job sites, this camp is full of action, teamwork, and fun in the dirt (the best kind!). All are encouraged to bring their Tonka trucks (or any kind of toy truck) to the adventure!

Princess Party Adventure (grades K – 2) – Monday, June 8 from 9:00 to noon

Step into a world of magic and imagination. The Princess Adventure is the perfect place for young royals to sparkle and shine. The young royals are encouraged to bring their baby dolls and dress up as their favorite princess! Lil’ princesses will enjoy fairy tale storytelling, royal crafts, music, movies, and dancing—all while building princess friendships.

Culinary Adventure (grades 3-5) – Tuesday, June 9 from 9:00 to noon

Calling all young chefs! Our Culinary Adventure is a delicious adventure where kids learn basic cooking skills, kitchen safety, and creativity through food. Campers will prepare simple recipes, explore different flavors, and even create their own tasty masterpieces. It’s the perfect mix of learning and fun—plus, they get to enjoy their creations!

Pampered Pups Adventure (grades 3-5) – Tuesday, June 9 from 9:00 to noon

For kids who love dogs and all things cuddly! Our Pampered Pups Adventure is all about caring, creating fun accessories and homemade dog treats, learning about pet care, and hanging out with our adventure mascot, Georgie (a kiddo-loving Cairn Terrier!). Whether they have a pup at home or just wish they did, this camp is full of tail-wagging excitement!

STEM Adventure (grades 6-8) – Wednesday, June 10 from 9:00 to noon

Curious minds wanted! Our STEM Adventure is packed with hands-on experiments, creative problem-solving, and exciting challenges in science, technology, engineering, and math. Come and conduct fun experiments; it’s learning brought to life in the most fun way possible!

Dream Catcher Art Adventure (grades 6-8) – Wednesday, June 10 from 9:00 to noon

Our Dream Catcher​ Art Adventure ​will be a magical experience​! Inspired by the beauty and symbolism of dream catchers, this adventure invites you to design and create your own dream catchers using yarn, beads, feathers, and natural elements. Tumbling Adventures (grades K-6) – Thursday, June 11 from 9 to noon
Get ready to flip, roll, and soar! Designed for all skill levels, our Tumbling Adventure introduces the fundamentals of gymnastics in a safe, supportive, and high-energy environment. Build strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence while learning proper technique and safety.

Registration for the 2026 Cardinal Classic Golf Outing is now OPEN! Register at https://cardinalstritch.org/golf26/! After the incredible success of the 2025 event, which SOLD OUT quickly, don’t miss your chance to join us for an unforgettable day of golf on Saturday, August 8, at Eagle’s Landing Golf Club (located at 5530 Bay Shore Road, Oregon, Ohio).

Kicking off at 8:00 am with a shotgun start, this event promises fun for everyone. The entry fee is $400 per foursome, which covers 18 holes with a cart, plus an enjoyable luncheon afterward. You can also purchase beverages, mulligans, skins, and games of chance.

Send off King to States! Join us on Wednesday, June 3, beginning at 11:30 am as Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School & Academy students, faculty, administration, coaches, and Oregon community members gather to celebrate and send off track and field athlete King Wilson Jr. to state competition in Columbus.

Oregon Fire and Oregon Police will es**rt King and his coaches out of the city as they travel south to Columbus for the OSHHA tournament.

At the Regional Finals this past weekend, King delivered outstanding performances in the 100m, 200m, and 400m dashes, helping Cardinal Stritch finish 10th out of 42 teams.

King is the Division 5 Fostoria Regional Champion in the 400m with a PR and a NEW school record of 49.17.

Highlights include:

400-meter dash (Final) - 1st place - Regional Champion, 49.17 seconds - STATE QUALIFIER

200-meter dash (Final) - 2nd place - Regional Runner-up, 22.03 seconds - STATE QUALIFIER

Long jump (Final) - 4th place - 22 feet, 4.25 inches - STATE QUALIFIER

100-meter dash (Final) - 7th place - 11.39 seconds

Coach Lau, Coach Gallina, and Coach Lucas report, "What an amazing day! King has qualified for the state meet in three (3) individual events, an unprecedented feat in Cardinal Stritch history!"

Congratulations to King Wilson Jr. '26 of the Cardinal Stritch boys track and field team. At the Regional Finals today, King delivered outstanding performances in the 100m, 200m, and 400m dashes, helping Cardinal Stritch finish 10th out of 42 teams.

King is the Division 5 Fostoria Regional Champion in the 400m with a PR and a NEW school record of 49.17. This bested the previous time of Cardinal Stritch’s Brandon Toler, who was a State Champion in the 400m in 2001. AMAZING!

200-meter dash (Final) - 2nd place - Regional Runner-up, 22.03 seconds - STATE QUALIFIER

Congratulations go out to King Wilson Jr '26 of the boys Cardinal Stritch Track and Field Team. King placed 4th in the Long Jump at the Regionals with a leap of 22’ 4.25”, which qualifies him for the State Meet in Columbus next week! He also had a very strong performance in the Regional Semifinals on Thursday evening in the 100m, 200m, and 400m dash, which allowed him to advance to the Regional Finals on Saturday. King is in a position to qualify for the state meet in four (4) individual events, which is unprecedented in Cardinal Stritch History!

Highlights Include:

Long Jump Finals - 4th place Regionals - King Wilson - 22 feet, 4.25 inches (State Qualified)

100 meter dash (Semifinal) - Tied for 4th place - 11.08 seconds

200 meter dash (Semifinal) - 1st place - 22.04 seconds

400 meter dash (Semifinal) - 1st place - 50.13 seconds
