Family Focus Forum

Family Focus Forum FFF is a parent centered ongoing learning series for OCSD families, parents and caregivers. Workshop and parenting sessions are offered yearly.

FFF invites parents to engage in learning, strengthen parenting skills and connect with other families. At Oregon City School District (OCSD), we believe in fostering a respectful, inclusive, and engaging online community that reflects our commitment to learning, collaboration, and belonging. We welcome open dialogue, diverse perspectives, and constructive conversations that support our mission of educating and empowering all students for success. To maintain a safe and positive environment for all users, we ask that you follow these engagement guidelines when interacting with our social media pages:

Respectful Communication
We encourage thoughtful discussion and the sharing of ideas. However, posts or comments containing the following will be removed:
Language or content that is abusive, obscene, or inappropriate, including profanity, hate speech, or sexually explicit material. Discriminatory remarks based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or any other protected status. Personal attacks or derogatory comments about students, staff, or community members. Content that violates the privacy of individuals, including personal or confidential information. Constructive Participation
Stay on topic. Comments should relate to the original post to foster meaningful discussion. Avoid repetitive comments. Posting the same message multiple times disrupts engagement and will be removed. Cite sources when sharing information. Misinformation or unverified claims may be removed to maintain accuracy. Monitoring & Response
Our page administrators regularly review comments and messages and will do their best to respond promptly or direct inquiries to the appropriate district leader(s). Messages are checked during normal OCSD operating hours. Responses may be delayed on weekends, holidays, and school breaks. Enforcement & Accountability
Users who repeatedly violate these guidelines may be restricted or banned from the page. OCSD reserves the right to remove any content at any time that does not align with our commitment to a respectful and positive online environment. Legal Disclaimer

However, third-party users may post content that does not reflect the district’s values or policies. For most of us, times have changed a lot since we were children. The abundant access to technology serving as a great example. Today, students have the world at the their fingertips, and can access and interact with all sorts of wonderful resources on the internet. There's no denying that this has been a positive change, but it also comes with a whole new level of precautions as a parent.

Join us on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Oregon City High School at our Family Focus Forum to learn more about online safety for parents of children of all ages.

The Children's Center is offering a session that will share clear information about online safety, with a focus on what parents and caregivers can do to help their kids be safe online. It will review what is known about the impact of technology on children, share strategies for maintaining safety and addressing concerns, and review resources for ongoing support and information on these topics. With this wonderful resource, you will leave feeling empowered with tools to navigate critical conversations about digital safety with their children.

Do you know about the Oregon Promise grant? The Oregon Promise is a state grant that helps cover tuition costs at any Oregon community college for recent high school graduates and GED® test graduates. Students must apply during their senior year or immediately after GED® test completion.
