CMGC is honored to be recognized and selected as the first-place winner by the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies website This is a national award that caught me by surprise. The project was a personal challenge because I am not a computer programmer and I invested many hours of study in order to be able to build the website. This means that according to the AFMS the CMGC website is the best in the nation! Clackamettegem.org

Last fall our club went on a field trip to Southern Oregon and collected Oregon Fire Opal on a private claim and Spectrum Sunstone Dig Site. Even though it snowed everyone found some very nice material. This years field trips can be found at www.clackamettegem.org/rockhound-field-trips
