Dr. Daniel Amen's method to reframe ANTs (Automatic Negative Thoughts) involves a simple "ANT-Eater" technique. When you notice a thought that makes you feel mad, sad, nervous, or out of control, you first write it down. Then, you challenge it with five specific questions:
Is it true?Can I absolutely know that it is true? (with 100% certainty)
How do I feel when I believe that thought?Who would I be without that thought? (or how would I feel if I couldn't have it?)Turn the thought around to its exact opposite. Is this opposite thought true or even truer than the original?

We don't have to believe every stupid thought or lie we think.
