The last Pre-K class of "Linda's" is heading off to Kindergarten today. These pictures were taken last Spring at our Track Meet. Unfortunately I think we were missing some children.

I'm thinking of all of you! I hope you have the most absolute awesome first day! I can't wait to hear all about it!

You may have noticed we've been pretty quiet lately. We'll it's not because we haven't been busy or doing things. Quite the opposite actually!
We've been savoring all the laughs, giggles, smiles, hugs, stories, and even the tears.
We've been trying to make the most of everyday with these the kids.
The staff have made special connections with each other these past 6 months. We were like family.
It's been hard to say good bye to Jena Davis, Ashley Haglan, Marie Kuszak, Cindy States, and Donnie Lewis .
Our summer help - Carmen Wagner, and Emmalyn Wipf, Amaya Kremke, and Ericka Vanosdall - are headed off to school.


Jenn Lusk , Danielle Anne Lewis , Chloey Everly, Lannette Newquist , and I ( Linda Setlik Horner ) will stay on with the new management.

I'm sure we will still post memories from time to time.
"Linda's" may be finished with its run, but it will live on in our hearts for many years to come!

We had a busy, fun week! We decorated patriotic t-shirts to wear in our parade.
Thursday morning we gathered at the Little Park. Some members of the Legion Riders brought their bikes and escorted us on our Patriotic parade.
When we arrived at the court house, families and members of the community joined us in saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
After a cool treat we went back to the park to play and eat our lunches.
We cooled down back at Linda's and finished our day with Snappers.
That evening staff and families came back to enjoy a hambrger/ hot dog BBQ and ice cream while we watched a fireworks show.
Thanks to Heather Fox for the generous donation of fireworks!

Pre-K is Zooming through summer! Our Summer 'At Home Activity' was for the children and their families to create a car/vehicle out of a box. We had some GREAT designs! The kids had fun driving their cars around. We had a mini car parade and drove them to a "drive in movie theatre' complete with snacks and drinks. " Cars 3" was the feature film.

Each child won a car trophy for their designed car.

We learned a little bit about what the first cars looked like and how cars have changed over the years. The highlight was getting a visit from the Valley Rods Classic Car Club. They took time away from making preparations for the 50th annual Father's Day Rod Run to bring cars out for the kids to see. We want to give them a huge "Thank You" Shout-out! We really appreciate it!

We also incorporated Bike Week into our activities. The children were welcome to bring a Bike or Scooter all week. When we had a chance we went out front to ride our bikes.

Next up...4th of July!!.... Stay tuned!

We spent an enjoyable evening this past Thursday, June 11th sharing memories of “Linda’s” from the past 23 years.
Amy Kokes brought the Grills Gone Wild Food Truck. The food was absolutely fabulous! Jenae Dulitz made beautiful and delicious cake and cupcakes!
She also made some decorated cookies for our staff who will not be returning when the business transition is finalized.

Jena, Marie, Ashley, Dalton, Donnie and Paul—we want to Thank you for all you have done over the years. We will miss you and wish you the best of luck as you move on to other opportunities!

T-shirts were laid out on the tables for each of the current staff for people to sign or write a special message on.

Mrs. (Mary Ellen) Setlik (Linda's Mom) who played an important role in helping us for years, was also recognized. She cleaned the first two locations every week for probably 10-15 years!

Posters with pictures from our first year of Preschool, scrapbooks and slideshows brought back lots of memories. We have been compiling a list of all the children who have been enrolled at “Linda’s”. It is just a preliminary list but we have served over 600 children!

“Thank you” is not nearly adequate to express our gratitude for all of the support we’ve had over the years.

Thank you area businesses and community members for your willingness to help with projects and activities.

Thank you Ord and the surrounding area for sharing your precious children with us!!

Happy birthday today to Paul Horner, or as the kids call him, Papa Paul!
Paul has been an instrumental part in helping build and maintain "Linda's." He's put in countless hours after work and on weekends to get and keep us up and running. There always seemed to be something that needed fixed, replaced or assembled.
During snow storms he would come out around 4 AM to clear the snow for families and staff.. He would return through out the day as needed.
The kids get excited when they hear his motorcycle pull up! They love to watch him work on things and ask him a million questions. ( I think Paul enjoys answering their questions too! )

Thank you Paul for your hard work over the years! We hope you enjoyed day!
