Picture Day was such a blast with San Luis Obispo Family Photographer! She spends time to make sure each child has a chance to shine and smile bright. We are so grateful that she took some time out of her day to showcase our awesome little ones.

And we’re also very grateful we waited until AFTER photos to go play outside 😉🤭 Mess is such a beautiful experience for our preschoolers and we definitely love all things hands-on. Picture day is one of the very few times the teachers will hear Ms Katie say to keep play from being messy!

One of the best parts of our week is chapel! Chapel is an age-appropriate focused lesson on one of our Bible stories, using lots of song and dance to worship God. We get to help focus on our learning the rest of the week by reading our Beginner’s Bible and doing a focused activity.

I definitely think our favorite part is using the tamborines and jumping around to Jennie Williamson - Music!

The countdown to candy has begun… Trunk Or Treat is coming to LCOS & Upward Bound! Join us for tons of candy, excellent themed trunks, a concessions stand, a free hayride around the field, s’mores at the fire pit, lawn games….. Phew! It’ll be an afternoon of pure fun.

Let’s talk about preschool…

Your kid is probably going to come home and tell you absolutely nothing about their day. 😂

They might cry at drop-off and then have a totally normal, happy day five minutes later.

They’re going to come home tired. Like… REALLY tired.

They’re going to have hard days. We all do.

And they don’t need to know all their letters, numbers, colors, shapes, etc. before they start. That’s part of what preschool is for.

At this age, they’re learning SO much more than academics. They’re learning how to regulate their emotions, play with other kids, follow a classroom routine, communicate what they need, solve little problems, be independent, and just… be part of a classroom.

There is so much learning going on in their little brains!

And that’s what we love about preschool. We get to meet kids where they are and help them grow from there!

Today, we had some very special and very important visitors! The Santa Maria Pediatric Dental Group & Orthodontics came to teach us about keeping our teeth healthy. From 2-5, all of our littles practiced brushing teeth and learned the importance of flossing.

All our students sat so nicely to listen and learn, plus they got to check their teeth and get a toothbrush!

Learning is way more than worksheets and sitting at desks. Hands-on lessons like today’s are so valuable for preschoolers and we are so grateful for in-house field trips like this!

We’re kicking off a great day of fellowship, fun, and community at LCOS and Upward Bound Preschool! Join us for a FREE BBQ lunch, a bounce house, cotton candy, face painting, and plenty of space for the kids to run, play, and burn off some energy.

Our Early Learners classroom is designed to be that sweet first step into school. We strive to create a warm, home-like environment where two-year-olds can learn, play, grow, and begin building their confidence away from home. And the best part? We accept diapered students!

With a small class size and low ratios, our teachers are able to provide the individualized care and attention little ones need while helping them become comfortable in a school setting.

✨ Starting at age 2
✨ Potty training is NOT required
✨ Half-day or full-day options
✨ Choose 2–5 days per week
✨ Plenty of outdoor play
✨ Games, activities, and hands-on learning
✨ Opportunities to interact with our older students
✨ Lots of time to build friendships and practice independence
