🐊 Garden Helper Spotlight: The Alligator Lizard! 🌿
Don't let the name fool you—an alligator lizard is one of the best little helpers you can have in your garden!
These shy reptiles are completely harmless to people and work hard behind the scenes, eating many of the pests that love to munch on our plants. Slugs, snails, spiders, insects, and even small garden pests can all end up on an alligator lizard's menu. That means fewer unwanted bugs and less need for pesticides!
If you're lucky enough to spot one basking in the sun or slipping through the mulch, consider it a sign of a healthy garden ecosystem. Give them a little space, avoid using harmful chemicals, and they'll happily continue their free pest-control service.
Nature has some amazing gardeners—and the alligator lizard is definitely one of them! 🦎💚
