We have learned of the passing of Lela Cooper, Class of 1954.
Condolences to her family and friends.
Lela Cooper Clark (Lee), age 89, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026.
Born and raised in Orchard, Nebraska, Lee was the middle child of five sisters, a bond she cherished deeply throughout her life. Her sisters were her first friends, lifelong confidants, and a constant source of love, laughter and strength. She graduated from Orchard High School in 1954.
Lee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond (Ray) Clark, who passed away in 2026, and her son, Scott Clark, who passed away in 2019, both of whom she missed dearly.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Clark; her son in laws Steve Bogacki and Oliver Alers; her granddaughter, Savannah Clark Frazier (Dillon Frazier); and her treasured great-grandchildren, Preslee James Frazier, GeorgiaAnne Cooper Frazier, and Clark Beau Frazier, who brought her immense pride and joy.
A lifelong learner and dedicated professional, Lee graduated from Pivot Point International Academy of Cosmetology and later Peabody College at Vanderbilt University with a degree in education. She devoted an extraordinary 69 years to her career as a hair stylist, a calling that reflected her creativity, work ethic and love for connecting with people. Her chair was a place of conversation, care and community.
Outside of her work, Lee had a deep appreciation for beauty and craftsmanship. She loved collecting fine china and antiques, had a keen eye for interior decorating, and delighted in creating warm, welcoming spaces. She also enjoyed playing cards, traveling the world, and embracing new experiences with curiosity and grace. She was a devout Christian.
Lee will be remembered for her elegance, resilience, creativity, and devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on in generations she loved, the lives she touched, and the beauty she brought into the world.
