Day 3 of State Convention.

Today was our last day at FFA State Convention. Session 5 was the meeting that the delegates chose our new 26/27 Illinois State FFA Officers. Ashlynn Schultz and Amery Dinderman represented Orangeville on the delegate floor. After the election session, we had an hour break until session 6 began. During session 6 we watched Elwyn sing one last time in the FFA Choir. Then Ashlynn was also recognized by getting an award for the top Individual Dairy Evaluations (reasons division). It was a fun 3 days down here and we made a ton of new memories!

Day 2 of State Convention.

Yesterday we dropped Elwyn off to perform with the choir while the rest of the group skipped session 3 and went to Scheels to look and shop around a little. We then went to enjoy lunch at Engrained. After lunch we went back to the hotel to get ready for session 4. During session 4 we watched Ashlynn get her State FFA Degree. After the session we went back to the hotel to change and then we headed to the Springfield Campus to meet up with our Section 1 chapters. We want to thank the Winnebago FFA Chapter for putting together the fun night filled with tons of different activities and yummy food!

Day 1 of FFA State Convention.

When we arrived, they sat through Session 1 and watched Natalie Pratt and Paige Sierens give their retiring addresses. After the session, we went back to the hotel to check in and rest for an hour until we had to leave for Session 2. In Session 2, they watched Kyle Bradshaw and Ethan Bremmer give their retiring addresses. During Session 2, we watched Elwyn Thom sing in the FFA Choir. Also during Session 2, Alaina Dinderman was recognized for receiving her American Degree in FFA. Congratulations, Alaina, on how far you've come!

Today, the 26/27 FFA officer team took a trip to Dubuque, Iowa, to tour the John Deere Construction Facilities. They got to see each section of the plant and were shown all the new technology that they are incorporating in their everyday work. The building was over 1.25 miles long. They had five different working lines, including things like building the cabs for the equipment and building dozers, skid steers, and backhoes. Each line tested different things that were not being built in the plant, such as excavators, haul trucks, and graders. After the tour, they got to go into a meeting room to enjoy some delicious pizza and watch a presentation about the different career pathways within the John Deere Corporation.
