Happy Summer from Bluehaven Arts! We are busy as can be trying delicious recipes and amazing art projects for our fall classes! Thanks to Sam Wilde from Cardboard Adventures for this amazing dragon head pattern! Absolutely can’t wait to create these with the kids this fall. Spots still available for our amazing summer camp for 2025! The camp will run June 9th - 12th from 10 am to 1:30 pm at our beautiful Orangevale location for kiddos 6-12 years. Each day we will be creating a special art project, enjoy a full and delicious lunch, conquer an epic waterslide, play games, enjoy snow cones, cotton candy and so much more! Disney Artist John Denton visited Bluehaven this month! Shared amazing stories of his many years of work at Disneyland and drew caricatures of all our Bluehaven Kiddos! 😊

Now enrolling for fall!

Bluehaven Arts is a unique educational program located at a beloved homestead in Orangevale, CA. It offers young people ages 6 - 12, weekly classes that will help develop their creativity, self-confidence and autonomy through activities involving art, animals, writing, nature and food.

Classes run monthly from September to May. Each month includes 4 weekly three-hour classes from 1-4pm on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

One 3-hour class per week for 4 weeks is only $240.

In each class we do a cooking or baking project that the children eat here, and take home to share along with the recipe. We also do an art project - anything from loom weaving to acrylic painting to jewelry making. Finally we alternate between animals experiences to scavenger hunts to giant bubble parties.

Custom Sock Puppets, Luna Moth Tea Trays Scavenger Hunts and Snow Cones is how Bluehaven kids finished off our school year. Seats still open for Fall - message today to schedule a tour.

Bluehaven Arts Creativity, Cooking, Creatures

Such happy work we’ve been doing at Bluehaven lately! Planted our spring garden and baked crème brûlée cheesecake bars, fresh herb muffins and strawberry rhubarb pie! We hand sewed bears, finger crocheted scarves, water colored our own magical cities and more! Waitlist now open for Fall!

So much good stuff happening at Bluehaven this month! Grani C from End of the Road Microfarm has graced us with her critters and epic weaving skills. This week we will be tackling Portokalopita - the most delicious Greek orange cake you can imagine. A couple of spots still open for our March-May classes!

Last month Bluehaven kiddos weeded, amended and planted our autumn garden with the lovely miss Jenn of Sunflower and Sage Gardens. 😊

This summer Bluehaven went to Japan and brought the magic back to our Bluehaven students! Recently we made authentic Udon noodles (see kids using the ‘stepping method’ to knead dough with their feet!) We also practiced Sashiko - Japanese embroidery, made delicious tamago (egg) and fruit sandos (sandwiches) and created pumpkins in the style of Japan’s famous artist Yayoi Kusama!
