SCHOLARSHIPS
• The Thursday Women’s Club of Fair Oaks scholarships are now available in counseling. Five scholarships are being offered to seniors from area high schools with a minimum award of $1,000 each. Community College bound seniors as well as four year bound students should apply! Submission deadline is April 17.
• Scholarship Essay Contest sponsored by Physicians for Social Responsibility/Sacramento
Students may enter the Scholarship Essay Contest by submitting an original essay of 500 words or fewer describing their thoughts about the prompt for this year's contest, a quotation by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Scholarships range from $250 to $3,000. Essays must be submitted by March 11th. Stop by the counseling office for more information.
• Orangevale Women’s Club is offering a $1000.00 scholarship to graduating seniors who reside or attend school in Orangevale. Male and female students can apply. Applications are available in the counseling office, deadline is March 28th.
• Natoma Lodge No. 64 will be awarding up to eight scholarships. Each scholarship will be $1000.00. Preference is given to students who demonstrate that they are entering into a field relating to public education, math, science, or engineering. Stop by counseling for more details. Completed applications are due March 27th.
• Orangevale Rotary Club Vocational Scholarships are available to Senior ROP students with a 2.0 or higher GPA. A letter of recommendation is required. The deadline for this $1000 scholarship is April 7th, stop by the counseling office for more information.
SENIORS: The Fall 2017 application is now open for students applying to American River, Folsom Lake, Sac City, and Consumnes River Colleges. Apply early to get priority registration!

TRADES JOB FAIR 2017 Need a job! Get face time with companies representing trades like HVAC, framing, concrete, and others including professional positions like project management. This event is free to job seekers and will be held at the Citrus Heights Community Center, April 4th, 2pm to 5pm. Skip the lines and register at www.biaworkforce.com/tradesjobfair.
Trades Job Fair NSBIF is hosting a Trades Job Fair on April 12, 2016 in Rocklin.
WEST POINT ADMISSIONS BRIEFING
West Point will be hosting an admissions briefing on Thursday evening, April 6th, from 7pm to 9pm at American River College Community Room Facility. All interested students and their families/friends are invited to attend this evening briefing given by Admissions officers from West Point, one of our nation’s finest colleges. Both the briefing and parking for this event are free and open to all.
AP TEST REGISTRATION will open next week, March 6th. Registration forms will be available in the counseling office. Each test costs $100.00. Fee reductions are available to those who qualify. Payment must be turned in to Mrs. Ogden in the financial office no later than Monday, March 20th.
SUMMER SCHOOL SIGNUPS are happening now! Students who have failed a course should make an appointment with their counselor to explore summer school options. Do not wait, sign up today. The deadline is April 7th.

UPCOMING TEST DATES
Juniors planning on attending a four year school after graduation should plan to take the SAT or the ACT test(s) this year. A score from either of these tests is required for admission into a University.
The next SAT test will be given on February 10th.
The next ACT test will be given on April 8th - deadline to register is March 3rd.
SCHOLARSHIPS
• Crystal Rodriguez applications are still available in counseling. A minimum 3.0 GPA, community service activities, and some evidence of financial need is required. THE DEADLINE TO APPLY IS THIS FRIDAY February 3rd which is sooner than you think! Letters of Recommendation are needed so plan ahead.
• Seniors who have applied to Sierra College (Fall 2017 semester) and set up a mySierra account are eligible to apply for Sierra College scholarships. Apply today! There are many 2017-18 scholarships available! Deadline is March 31st.
• Safe Credit Union will award ten $1,000 scholarships for college bound seniors across the Greater Sacramento region. Qualified applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or above, community involvement, and financial need. Applications are available in the counseling office. Deadline to apply is March 6th.
