Tomorrow, March 14th at 10:00 AM, Tappan Zee High School will be joining schools across the nation in a minute long moment of silence in remembrance of the 17 lives lost in the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Students will also have the opportunity participate in the National School Walkout. Teachers will remain in their classrooms to accommodate the students that do not wish to participate. Other teachers have been assigned to supervise as well. For those participating, please exit your classrooms quietly and respectfully, leaving your belongings in the classroom. Safety precautions have been met. Please note that this walk out is entirely optional and strictly in memoriam of those who lost their lives in Parkland, FL last month. All student decisions will be supported. Thank you.

The entire South Orangetown community is invited to the second annual Two Counties, One Cause Tournament Saturday, January 20, at Tappan Zee High School. The 10-team varsity basketball charity event will benefit the Children's Tumor Foundation and its research on neurofibromatosis.

The tournament tips off at 11:00am:
11:00am - Nyack vs. Hendrick Hudson
1:00pm - Albertus Magnus vs. Ossining
3:00pm - Mamaroneck vs. Ramapo
5:00pm - Pearl River vs. Scarsdale
7:00pm - Yorktown vs. Tappan Zee

Suggested donation is $2 for students, $4 for adults and $8 for families. Fans are encouraged to bring a new teddy bear for the Teddy Bear Toss during the Yorktown vs. Tappan Zee matchup at 7:00pm. Teddy bears will be collected for children in need.

If you are interested in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, coding, or simply just robotics, come join TZ's Robotics Team! The team will raise funds, design a brand, and build and program an industrial sized robot and compete! Come check it out! 🤖
