UPDATES: The Chapman Equestrian Team is non-competing this year! Due to internal circumstances, we are unable to participate in the regular season IHSA competitions, we are so excited to continue riding and practicing with our coach and our team in weekly lessons. If you are interested in joining our team, we are still taking members, so that we can be prepped and ready to be back and better than ever next season!

The Chapman Equestrian needs your support! Our team is only able to keep going through generous donations- no matter how big or small, each one counts! Riding at the collegiate level is an incredible way to display hard work, have fun doing a sport we love, and be competitive with other colleges in our zone.

One of our key missions is to make collegiate riding accessible and affordable for all who wish to partake. The equestrian sport has historically been prohibitively expensive, and we want to do our part to eliminate that barrier for both experienced competitors and those who just want to learn to ride & spend time around horses alike!

We are hoping to continue our team’s success for the rest of this year and in years to come, but we are in need outside support to do so.

My name is Sandrine Seifert, and I am thrilled to kick off my second year as the Chapman University Equestrian Team coach! With over 30 years of riding experience and a deep connection to Southern California’s equestrian community, I’ve dedicated my career to blending technical skills with genuine horse care. From my early days at Foxfield Riding School to running my own hunter/jumper and dressage program, my passion lies in nurturing riders and their horses. I’m excited to build on our past successes and guide our team to even greater heights this season. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

Hi everyone!! I’m chloe and I run the Chapman Eq team’s social media. I am starting my sophomore year, and this is my second season with this amazing team! I am from Marin, and my major is Sociology with minors in Leadership and Music Technology. I have been riding for 14 years, and I mostly have experience in jumpers, but I have dabbled in the eq and hunters for sure. Chapman Equestrian has been such a blessing to have in my life. Not only have I been able to meet some of the greatest people, but it also has been the best way to improve my riding. Our team is so hard working and eager to compete and learn, and it inspires me to do the same! Our coach, .seifert , is one of the best in the business and I have been lucky enough to learn under her. We are so grateful to have her on our team, and I am so excited for this upcoming season and to meet our new members!! ❤️🖤

Hi! My name is Faith DiMaria and I am the President of Chapman University’s Equestrian Team! This upcoming 2024/25 season will be my third year running the team alongside our amazing coach .seifert. We are so excited to kickoff the year!

I’m originally from Carlsbad, CA and am majoring in Psychology with a minor in Entrepreneurship. I have a horse named “Bronson” that I enjoy competing in the hunters/derbies/eq with.

I love the Chapman Equestrian Team for so many reasons, but one of my favorite things is encouraging every rider in their love and passion for the sport. I hope to make our team feel like a second family for everyone and to help others gain knowledge and experience around the barn and outside the show ring. This season I am really looking forward to the recruiting process and also building and strengthening relationships within our team!

My name is Heidi Wakefield. I am a junior creative writing major and honors minor. I am the treasurer for the Chapman Equestrian team and have been riding for 14 years, mostly competing in the Hunters and Equitation. I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma where I rode at Revery Equine. I found the Chapman equestrian team from looking up and contacting the Instagram. I have had a great time getting to know the girls and training with our head trainer Sandrine Seifert in Burbank! The equestrian team is a great way to make friends and compete in riding without needing prior experience!!

Hi! My name is Maci I am Sophomore from Vancouver WA! My current role is Barn Manger! I’m in charge of helping move horses in on Fridays and help with schooling. Throughout the show I make sure all the horses are where there suppose to be and to make sure there well cared for while not at home! This team has brought many new friendships and familiar faces around campus. Please reach out with any questions!

Team member Mia Sanders has been crushing it over her break… she just got back from a horse show in Temecula where she consistently rode great in hunter and equitation classes!! We are so proud of her and so excited to keep cheering her on the summer as she continues her show season❤️🖤
