Great news, Orange Unified! Fitch Ratings gave our District two strong grades for how we manage money: an AA+ for overall financial health, and an AAA, the highest grade possible, for how we pay back money borrowed to build and improve schools.
Both ratings came with a stable outlook, meaning Fitch expects us to keep up the good work.

"Every dollar entrusted to Orange Unified represents an investment in our scholars and our schools," said Superintendent Monárrez. "This is what it means to value every dollar, and to deliver excellence for every scholar."

Board President Stephen Glass, EdD, shared: "Responsible stewardship is foundational to our ability to provide a high-quality education for every scholar."

On Friday, our teachers and staff kicked off the 2026-27 school year at Convocation with a powerful message from Superintendent Monarrez: "Turn the lens. Look for the fuller picture, in your students, your colleagues, and yourselves."

We heard from rising junior Ronit Singh (Canyon HS) on the power of student voice, followed by an inspiring student panel, and a keynote from Dr. Luis F. Cruz on building belonging and excellence in our schools.

Here's to a year of belonging, possibility, and excellence for every scholar.
Welcome back, Orange Unified educators! We will see you on August 19.
