We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. FOCUS, AUTHENTICITY, COURAGE, EMPATHY, TIMING. كافر It is the S.H.I.T.

Deadcell was concived in 2003 with a foundation of Sportsmanship Honor Integrity and Team work. that has helped us to where we are today. In 2012 our team built in a new direction. We wanted to be more involved in the Milsim community in southern california and we knew that reaching out to the community was the only way. After placing second in the first ACA's we had enough recognition to approch

Test Driving a new(er) poor man's concept in powered vertical accention we found some boys in Washington using to climb trees.
Total cost of new equipment: $675 making it the most affordable powered Ascender setup we have ever seen
This being Southern California, we decided to apply it to our abandoned mine exploration in the high desert with absolutely fantastic results.

EQUIPMENT USED:

MISTY MOUNTAIN ISH belt, chest rig and leg loops (full body harness recommended but not required)

RollGliss r550 commercial rescue decender (picked up used for $400, MSRP is $1900-$2400....so used it is.

60v 6a dewalt cement mixing battery operated drill ($275 shipped with battery)

200ft Bluewater 10mm hybrid rope (suggest you use a static line, we would have but ours is a 11mm and had feed issues with the rollgliss. Modifications to come)

Locking Steel carabiner's (required to meet device certification compliance to industrial use standards)

Don't go cheap on safety don't buy Chinese anything for climbing if you value your life. We buy high quality gear we can trust and this setup is no different, it just happens to be at a much more approachable price point then previously know to us. Other systems run 2k minimum and go up to 20-30k for top of the line self contained powered Ascenders.

IMPORTANT!!!

This should not be attempted without extinsive prior experience with high exposure rope work (S&R, Commercial, Mountaineering, multi-pitch accents etc. Our group members have all gone through training and some are certified to train with 10-20 years of experience.
We are not responsible for any actions taken as a result of watching this video. Climbing can be deadly or devistatingly life altering regardless of past experience or precautions taken. Confined space exploration (such as abandond mines) only compounds these risks and makes emergency rescue, should the s**t hit the fan, nearly impossible inside a survivable timeliness and should not be an expected avaliable resource. Only you can be held responsible for your actions if you choose to take such risks.

One of our boys took the weekend off from his CG Station in OR to join Face and Roach on a bit of warm weather SoCal mountaineering training in Trabuco Canyon CA. Great times. Started at 495 ft and hiked up to 2350 ft in just under 1.7 miles of VERY loose rock and some great views.
